Rails and routes
Physical track geometry, shared-route colour bands and layer controls.
Two map layers
- Tracks show the physical TRAIN rail geometry sampled from MTR.
- Routes show MTR route colours along those same rails.
- Landmarks draw above both layers.
When several routes share one physical rail, each route gets an adjacent colour band rather than overwriting the others. Route and track geometry share the same rail samples, keeping their paths aligned. Work outside the map viewport is culled.
Controls
Use the TRACKS and ROUTES buttons in either map integration, or set trackLines and routeLines in the configuration. These controls are independent.
Data coverage
A client-only installation can display the nearby MTR data already sent to it. Install MTR Map Overlay on the server as well to request a whole-network snapshot for each dimension. Use /mtrmap syncRoutes to request a refresh.
The current renderer samples TRAIN mode rails. Other MTR transport modes are not shown as physical track lines.
